It is with a heavy heart that we share that dear friend, partner, and collaborator for the last 15 years, Robert J. Gilbert, Ph.D., passed away peacefully with me by his side on February 10, 2025.
He wore many hats—a brave Marine, a passionate student, an ascetic occultist, a loving father, a cherished teacher, and a loyal friend. He was indeed a “man for all seasons.”
In a world that often felt dim, Robert stood out as a shining beacon, carrying the light of the Archangel Michael in a way only he could. His life’s work will continue to guide and inspire generations to come, lighting a path that might otherwise stay hidden.
We’ll miss him more than words can say, and we’ll always honor the incredible legacy he leaves behind.
I’m fully committed to continuing Robert’s work as we look to the future. While working closely with him over the past few months, Robert authorized three other individuals to work with me to carry on the projects he began at the Vesica Institute. He gave us a detailed roadmap for new initiatives he hoped would bloom after his passing. One of these initiatives is TRAC—Temple of The Rose and Chalice—a nonprofit organization he envisioned that’s almost ready to launch.
Vesica will be closed from February 13th through February 23rd so we can adequately grieve and pay tribute to Robert. We’ll share more details about our upcoming plans once we’ve had time to honor his memory.
With gratitude, Jennifer Barnds Director of the Vesica Institute
