Anthony Sanchez Obituary Lake Nona: In loving memory of Lake Nona High School student killed in Narcoossee Road crash

The Lake Nona High School community came together on Thursday evening to honor the memory of a senior who tragically lost his life in a fiery crash that occurred on Wednesday, involving three students. The accident took place on Narcoossee Road, located between Savannah Park and Nonacrest Drives.

According to Orange County Public Schools, Anthony Sanchez succumbed to injuries he sustained in the collision. At the scene, grieving students gathered to pay their respects, with some leaving flowers by a nearby tree as a tribute.

Preliminary investigations by the Orlando Police Department suggest that the accident was the result of two vehicles driving recklessly. Officers reported that the vehicles were weaving in and out of traffic at high speeds. Witnesses recounted that one of the vehicles struck a tree with such force that it bent sharply in the middle, almost like a toy, and then bounced off.

Anthony Sanchez was looking forward to graduating with his class in May. His friend Ian Pellicia reflected on the loss, expressing hope that his generation would learn not to take the presence of loved ones for granted. “We aren’t meant to leave this world so soon; we remain our parents’ cherished children, the comfort of our closest friends, and the joy of our teachers,” Pellicia said. He urged everyone to appreciate their time together, noting that the regret of not doing so later is an unbearable feeling.
