Yasmeen Webb Obituary: 27-year-old Yasmeen Webb killed in French Quarter quadruple shooting
The vibrant streets of the French Quarter were disrupted by violence on Thursday, November 21, as a tragic shooting unfolded in broad daylight. The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office has since identified the woman killed in the incident as 27-year-old Yasmeen Webb.
The shooting, which occurred around 12:20 p.m. in the 700 block of Iberville Street, left four people wounded, turning a lively and bustling area into a scene of chaos and despair.
According to the New Orleans Police Department (NOPD), officers arrived on the scene to find multiple victims suffering from gunshot wounds. Emergency responders rushed them to a nearby hospital, where two were stabilized, one underwent emergency surgery, and Webb succumbed to her injuries.
The other victims included a 40-year-old man, a 24-year-old man, and a 39-year-old woman. Witnesses described the panic and confusion that ensued as the gunfire rang out.
One person, who was inside a nearby establishment, recounted the terrifying moments: “Everybody just ran to the back. I ran behind the bar, and then they told everybody to go to the back, and we went to the back, and people were falling. Somebody cut themselves, I think because the glass fell.”
Investigators quickly began piecing together evidence and obtained surveillance footage that provided crucial leads. The footage led police to the vehicle used in the attack and identified the suspects involved. Law enforcement arrested 28-year-old Nicholas Miorana while continuing to search for two other suspects: 21-year-old Daniel Miorana and 23-year-old Darrell Adams.
Both Daniel Miorana and Adams remain at large, and authorities urge anyone with information about their whereabouts to contact Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111. Adams is also wanted for a separate shooting incident that took place on September 25, adding to the urgency of his capture.
Each suspect faces one count of second-degree murder and three counts of attempted second-degree murder, highlighting the severity of the charges against them.
NOPD Superintendent Anne Kirkpatrick stated that early investigations suggest the shooting may have been a targeted attack, but the exact motive remains unclear. “We are diligently working to bring justice to the victims and their families,” Kirkpatrick said.
Friends and loved ones of Yasmeen Webb mourn her untimely loss. One friend, heartbroken over her passing, expressed deep sorrow: “Someone that I love, somebody that loves me. She was a loving person, and she loved people. She was a people’s person. Will give you anything. She didn’t deserve this, not at all.”
As the investigation continues, the community grapples with another act of senseless violence in an area known for its culture, music, and tourism. Authorities remain committed to ensuring those responsible are brought to justice while urging residents and visitors to stay vigilant and report any relevant information that may aid in the ongoing search for the remaining suspects.
